Fast Food FireCooking?
Oprah used to endorse books - now she endorses fast food. FireCookers know that grilling chicken is one of the more basic items to grill in the backyard, but now Kentucky Fried Chicken is getting in on the action and offering it along side their fried stuff. Tillicum Village is a cool little adventure for Seattle visitors and anyone with a love of the rich cultural history of cooking with wood planks and fire. A short boat ride from the mainland takes you to the island where you are greeted with an appetizer of steaming clams in nectar broth. In the longhouse, you watch as whole Chinook salmon are cooked over an alder-wood fire on cedar stakes, then line up to gorge on the delicious smoky fresh fish and warm bread, potatoes and wild rice. Yesterday was a good day. I lost my BBQ virginity.
Although my buddy Sean is your Hard Core, Gung Ho, BBQ freak, I’m what you would call a typical All American Griller. I can grill everything from shrimp to pineapple. Grill some crispy hot dogs for you? No problem. You say you want a juicy hamburger? Comin’ right up. There is nothing I cant grill.
